Built 2004
Hiitolanjoen Voima
|
Ritakoski is one of the five power plants originally built for Simpele paper
mill close to Finnish Russian border. The present power house was
built in year 1920 and it was supplied with two vertical francis
turbines. Waterpumps WP Oy modernized the plant with four fixed
flow compact turbines.
|
The work included civil works, control panels, remote control system
and network connection with 400 to 20 000 kV transformer. The refurbishment
work will be continued with automatic trash rake and sluice gates.

Turbine units are installed in two rows one on other
into the old waterways of the plant. Installation minimized
the removal of old concrete structures and enabled the conservation
of the power house with historical values.
